Montenegro Supreme Court Set to Rule on Do Kwon’s Extradition

Montenegro’s Supreme Court is expected to rule by the end of this month on whether the extradition process of Do Kwon involved legal violations.

According to Montenegrin newspaper Vijesti, the Supreme State Prosecutor has raised concerns about multiple breaches of law in the decisions made by lower courts regarding Kwon’s extradition.

Acting Supreme Court President Vesna Vu?kovi? acknowledged the concerns over legal uncertainties in the case, stating that the issues identified within a short timeframe could impact judicial consistency and fairness in Montenegro’s legal system.

Vu?kovi? also noted delays in scheduling a session to review the prosecutor’s request, which could further complicate the timeline for a final ruling.

Meanwhile, in a separate case, Montenegrin police arrested Roman Ziemian, co-founder of the crypto fraud scheme FutureNet, in Podgorica, where he was living under a false identity.

Ziemian, who co-founded the platform in 2018, is set to appear before the High Court for an extradition hearing.

FutureNet, which promoted its cryptocurrency FuturoCoin (FTO), was flagged by Polish authorities as a potential pyramid scheme and collapsed in 2020 after investigations by South Korean authorities. Ziemian, previously arrested in Italy, had escaped house arrest.
