US imposes sanctions on six Pakistani companies for posing security threat

Washington: Six companies in Pakistan have been doing very dangerous business in the nuclear and missile manufacturing sector. The United States imposed sanctions on these Pakistani companies, alleging that in the days to come, these Pakistani companies could also put US security at risk. The US has constantly warned that terrorists could take over Pakistan’s nuclear weapons. In such a situation, US action against Pakistan becomes significant.

The US Department of Commerce on Thursday has taken action by imposing sanctions on a total of 24 companies. This includes six companies in Pakistan. Dynamic Engineering Corporation, Enerquip Private Limited, NAR Technologies General Trading LLC, Trojans, Rainbow Solutions and Universal Drilling Engineers are the companies. Thea Rozman Kendler, Assistant Secretary of Commerce for Export Administration alleged that these Pakistani companies have constantly been doing dangerous business related to missile and nuclear technology.

Missile and nuclear technology dealings with the wrong organisations could put the US at risk. Alleging that it could also have repercussions globally, Kendler supported sanctions on Pakistani companies. Moreover, these companies were claimed to be linked to Pakistan’s missile and nuclear programmes.

A nuclear-armed Pakistan has been becoming progressively vulnerable. Instability has been increasing in this country, and the activities of terrorist organisations have been the main reason behind this instability. The United States had earlier alleged that these terrorist organisations were getting support from some officials in Pakistan’s security systems. Security agencies of the US had warned that if these developments in Pakistan were not paid attention to in time, this country’s nuclear weapons would be taken over by terrorists.
